Can I use ElevenLabs for audiobooks and podcasts?

Audiobooks and podcasts are two of the strongest use cases for ElevenLabs, because both are long-form voice content where consistent, natural narration is the whole product. The realism is high enough that AI-narrated audiobooks and solo or scripted podcasts are increasingly produced this way, at a fraction of the time and cost of studio recording.

For audiobooks specifically, plan for volume. A full book runs to hundreds of thousands of characters, so the Creator plan (or higher) is usually the right home for the credit allowance, and professional voice cloning is worth it if you want a distinctive, consistent narrator voice across the whole book. Generate in chapters, review for pronunciation, and use the tools to fix any awkward reads.

For podcasts, Starter or Creator typically suffices depending on episode length and cadence. Scripted narration, intros and outros, and even multi-voice dialogue (using different voices) are all achievable, and commercial rights from the paid plans cover monetized shows.

The important external check is distribution rules. Some audiobook retailers and platforms have specific policies on AI-narrated content, ranging from requiring disclosure to restricting fully synthetic narration in certain programs. Confirm the rules of your target platform (Audible, Spotify, Apple, and so on) before committing a full production, since ElevenLabs granting you commercial rights is separate from a store's content policy.
