How to Become a Referral Partner for AI Data-Licensing Programs

A data-licensing referral partner introduces established companies to programs that pay businesses to license their operational data (SOPs, CRM records, support tickets) for AI training. Published programs say referrers can earn fixed rewards or a percentage of qualifying deals, paid only after data is transferred and approved. Nothing is guaranteed. You can apply below.

AI labs have read most of the public internet. What they still lack is the messy, real record of how businesses actually run: internal tickets, project histories, sales pipelines, and process documents. Some data-licensing programs now pay companies for that data, and some also reward the people who introduce qualifying companies.

If you work with founders, operators, or agencies, you may already know companies that fit. This guide explains how these programs work, what published terms say referrers can earn, and how to apply to join my referral partner network.

What is a data-licensing referral partner?

A referral partner is an independent person who shares a unique referral link with companies that might want to license their operational data. The company registers itself through that link, completes its own application, and goes through the program's review.

You are not a salesperson for the program. You do not negotiate, sign contracts, or speak on its behalf. Your role is to spot a good fit, get consent from someone authorized at the company, and point them to the official application.

Why do AI programs pay for operational data?

According to one published data-partnership page, the data AI developers need "can no longer be found on the public internet" because it lives inside real companies. Typical categories include software and engineering, finance and accounting, customer support, sales and CRM, legal and contracts, and operations and logistics.

How does the referral process work?

Based on the published process of a leading program, the steps are:

  1. Register as a referral partner and copy your unique referral link.
  2. Share the link with companies that could be a fit, after getting consent from an authorized representative.
  3. The company registers its own profile through your link and completes a data manifest.
  4. The program reviews the company to decide whether it is a fit.
  5. The company transfers approved data if a partnership is agreed.
  6. Payout is processed after the data is transferred and approved.

What does not count as a referral?

Signing up alone does not earn a reward. The published terms state that a bonus is not earned "simply because a company registers, completes its application, or signs an agreement." Manual introductions, applications filed on a company's behalf, and meeting requests do not replace the official link.

How much can referral partners earn?

Published terms describe what referrers can earn for qualifying deals. These are program maximums and formulas, not predictions. Many referrals will never reach payout.

Partnership typeWhat referrers can earn (published terms)When it is paidTypical company fit
Enterprise data partnership$50,000 for deals up to $700,000, or 7.5% of deal value above $700,000After data is transferred and approvedOperating company, 30+ employees, English records, US and Western markets prioritized
Defunct company data partnership$75,000 for deals up to $1 million, or 7.5% of deal value above $1 millionAfter data is transferred and approvedCompany no longer operating, 30+ employees, English records
Other listed partnerships7.5% of deal valueAfter data is transferred and approvedVaries by opportunity

For context, the same program says companies themselves are paid amounts it describes as typically ranging from $150,000 to over $2 million for approved data packages, based on quality and uniqueness.

Is any reward guaranteed?

No. The program's own FAQ answers "Does referring a company guarantee a bonus?" with "No." It also says "There is no guaranteed timeframe between application and partnership completion." Treat these as possible outcomes, not expected income.

Which companies are a good fit?

Published criteria describe "established companies with 30+ full-time employees, mature business operations, and substantial historical operational data." Use this checklist before you reach out:

  • 30 or more full-time employees (current or, for defunct companies, at closure)
  • Several years of records across multiple business systems
  • Internal communications, SOPs, project histories, CRM records, or support tickets
  • Records primarily in English
  • Based in the US first, then other Western markets (UK and Canada noted as strong demand)
  • A decision maker who can legally consent to licensing the data
  • No existing registration with the program (earlier registrations are not attributed to you)

Who in my network is likely to know these companies?

Partners often come from these groups:

Network typeWhy it fits
Founders and operatorsKnow peers running 30+ person companies, and founders who wound down a business
Agencies and consultanciesSee client systems, ticket volumes, and data maturity firsthand
Investors and advisorsHold portfolio relationships, including shut-down companies
Newsletter or creator audiencesReach operators at scale with educational content
Recruiters and HRSpeak with leaders at many mid-size companies

What rules must referral partners follow?

Published referral terms set clear limits. Following them protects you and the companies you refer:

  • Get consent first. You need consent from an authorized company representative before referring.
  • Use your link only. Attribution comes from the company registering through your unique link, and it cannot be changed later.
  • Do not pose as staff. Use your own email and never present yourself as an employee, agent, or official representative of the program.
  • Disclose conflicts. If you own or work for a company, disclose that in writing before referring it.
  • No reward sharing. You may not offer or share any part of a payout with the company or its people.
  • No income promises. Do not tell anyone they will or are likely to earn a specific amount.
  • Disclose your relationship. Any content you publish must clearly say you may earn compensation, in line with the FTC Endorsement Guides.

How do I apply to become a referral partner?

Fill in the short application below. I review each one and reply by email with next steps, including how to get your own referral link if it is a fit. There are no calls required.

Apply to become a referral partner

The form asks for your name, email, LinkedIn or website, your network type, and roughly how many companies you could realistically reach. You will also confirm that referrers are independent and earnings are not guaranteed.

What do people ask about data-licensing referrals?

Do I need to work for the data-licensing company to refer?

No. Published terms say anyone over 18 can refer companies, except in countries or regions where the program cannot operate. Referrers are independent and are not employees or agents.

Is a referral reward guaranteed?

No. Rewards are paid only after a referred company transfers data and the program approves it. Registration, applications, and signed agreements alone do not earn a reward.

How long does it take to get paid?

There is no guaranteed timeline. One published process gives the program 30 days to review delivered data, then pays the company within 30 days of invoicing. Referral payouts follow approval.

How are referral partners paid?

The published terms of one program say referral payouts go directly to your bank account by wire transfer after the payout is approved.

Can I refer my own employer or company?

Only if you first disclose that relationship to the program in writing, and you have consent from an authorized representative. Self-referrals without disclosure are not allowed.

Can I refer companies outside the US?

Yes, if they fit. Published criteria prioritize US companies, then other Western markets, with records mainly in English.
