My short verdict
Shortlist Pi if the main job is turning an approved source pack into a deck and you can inspect the result. Decide what file and editing access you need before choosing a plan. A useful in-browser presentation can still fail a client's handoff requirements.
It makes sense when
- A consultant or marketer adapting a defined brief into slides.
- A team that can review factual claims and revise the exported result.
- A buyer comparing slide tools with the same source pack and acceptance checks.
I would choose something else when
- Your decision requires verified export fidelity that you have not tested.
- You expect a generated chart or citation to be correct without review.

What Pi does
Pi's official product page describes presentation creation from prompts and source files such as PDFs, Word documents, existing presentations, and web pages. Its editor supports local and broader AI changes. Those are documented capabilities, not evidence that every source or layout will be handled correctly.
Use it to evaluate a specific output. For example, a consultant may need a client-ready summary from an approved report; a marketer may need a short campaign proposal. The test should reflect the actual document length, charts, and editing requirements of that work.

Read the billing interval and export rules together
The table records displayed offers, not guaranteed future renewal prices. The yearly totals correspond to $14, $28, and $74 per month respectively, but are charged yearly. Check checkout, renewal terms, and applicable tax before paying; do not treat crossed-out comparison prices as the amount you will be charged.
The checked Pro card lists 12,000 monthly credits and multi-format export. It also uses unlimited feature labels. Do not turn those labels or vendor deck-count estimates into a guaranteed production budget. Record which operation consumes credits and confirm the restrictions for the format you need.
If your deliverable must be editable in PowerPoint, a free-plan preview cannot settle the purchase decision. Verify the required paid plan and inspect a representative exported file before moving a client workflow.

A shared six-slide evaluation
Use an entirely fictional agency report with three months of revenue, incoming requests, and completed projects. Supply definitions and explicitly omit costs, staffing, and customer retention. Ask for an executive summary, revenue chart, activity comparison, limitations, cautious recommendation, and source notes.
Tell the tool to use only the supplied data and label the deck fictional. It must not invent customer quotes, causal explanations, or market statistics. Completed projects may come from earlier requests, so the deck must not claim a conversion rate from unmatched monthly totals.
After generation, change one revenue figure and one heading. Check that dependent totals and percentages update, while other figures and caveats remain intact. This reveals more about a working editing process than looking only at the first polished version.
- Check every number, unit, definition, and chart label against the source pack.
- Inspect text size, spacing, overflow, and readability in presentation mode.
- Try a local text correction and a data correction separately.
- Open each required export in its destination application; inspect editable text, charts, and speaker notes if supported.
- Record plan, starting allowance, revisions, final allowance, and active review time.

Compare Pi with Genspark on the same deliverable
Genspark is relevant when the broader workflow includes research and other outputs alongside slides. Pi is a presentation-focused candidate. That difference suggests what to test; it does not establish which produces a better deck.
Use identical source material and the same required final format. Compare corrections needed, missing caveats, editability, and total cost of an accepted deck. Keep research accuracy separate from the controlled-data test: a tool can preserve supplied numbers while still producing weak web research.
If you already work in a presentation editor, include your current process as the baseline. Count the time spent moving content between tools and repairing the handoff, not just the initial generation time.

When to subscribe
Choose a plan only after identifying the features that pass your acceptance checks. If a required export or edit is unavailable, do not assume that a larger credit balance will fix it. Ask the vendor to clarify the specific format or limit.
For recurring work, try both a normal deck and a difficult source pack. Keep the native output, exports, correction transcript, and usage record. Those files give you a reviewable basis for deciding whether Pi belongs in your workflow.
