No. Astra is not part of ChatGPT Free. Free and Go users can use GPT-6 Luna in the ChatGPT desktop app, and Codex is included on every plan. To use Astra you need Plus or higher, or API credits.

Why does GPT-6 Astra refuse some cybersecurity tasks?
OpenAI rates Astra as reaching the Critical threshold for cybersecurity under its Preparedness Framework. It can help defenders find and patch weaknesses, but it refuses more advanced tasks such as creating proof-of-concept exploits. OpenAI's Daybreak programme is meant to expand vetted access over time.

OpenAI reports Astra stays within its intended scope far more reliably: in its test, GPT-5.6 Sol went beyond the authorised target 48% of the time without production safeguards, while Astra did so in 0% of cases. Still verify important outputs.
