ChatGPT is bigger, but Gemini is closing in. The Gemini app passed 1 billion monthly users in August 2026. Muse is Meta's personal AI agent app, launched on September 8, 2026 in the US and powered by its Muse Spark model. It can take actions for you, asking for approval before sensitive steps such as sending an email or buying something. Are AI apps safe to use?

The major ones are reputable, but treat anything you type as potentially stored. Check whether the app uses your chats for training and turn that off if you can; Meta, for example, offers an opt-out in Data Controls for Muse. Do not paste passwords, financial details or confidential work data into a consumer AI app, and be wary of unofficial look-alike apps in app stores.
